Decorative Plate Application Technique
APPLICATION TECHNIQUES:
Application technique of Flexypan decorative façade siding:
Application surface is marked with obtaining elevation from all façades. Ropes are hanged around building from all marked points and plates whose mounting shall be commenced from the bottom point are ensured to be in the same elevation. Adhesive mortar is applied on entire surface (wall) on which mounting of Flexypan plates shall be made with toothed trowel. It is adhered well to the surface of plate with the help of float by beginning from bottom part. Joint is ensured side to side in a way in which there shall be no 3mm clearance between plates. Wide joints which shall cause heat bridges on joining places of Flexypan plates shall not be left. Plug shall be applied in a way which shall penetrate into wall following adhesion.
Flexypan plates are in 500*2000 m dimension in standard and 4-6 plugs application shall be made on meter square. System is completed by applying Flexypan repair mortar (special elastic with acrylic base) for plug places and joint areas. Flexypan repair mortar overflowing from joint places is cleaned with the help of spatula. Joint places are rubbed with emery after they are dried. Flexypan repair mortar is applied with being thinned on coves and roughness likely to occur on repaired areas with the help of brush. Burrs are removed with the help of emery paper after they are dried. Application shall be maintained upwards as zigzag movements. Flexypans plates may be painted with façade paints in any color.
Matters to be considered in application;
• Application surface should be clean. There should not be any dust, polish, oil and moisture on the surface. If structure is old, it should be cleaned off loose plaster and paint layer.
• Application surface should be scales. If building is not new and surface is not proper, surface should be corrected with rough cast.
• Application should not be performed under 5 C.
• Mitre instrument must be used in shearing.
• 3 mm clearances should be left on joint places of plates and should be filled with Flexypan repair mortar.
• Flexypan plates should be furnished as zigzag.
• Paint to be used should be of high quality.
